Feature Request

The more I use the search engine, the more frustrated I am with it. It pays no attention to quotes, so when I search for "user site" it returns every article that has the word "user" and the word "site" in it. Some of the results only have one term or the other! That's unacceptable.

Search should be able to find the actual link inside a hyperlink so we can make sure no old links are left over.

I understand that you use a certain hierarchy when retrieving search results. However, from a user's perspective, when I search for a specific section title in an article, it often appears at the bottom of the search results instead of being prioritized at the top. This can make it difficult for users to find the information they need and can result in our articles being overlooked or unfound. It may be worth considering adjusting the search algorithm to prioritize section titles and improve the user experience.

When searching for a term, it should include glossary entries within the search results. In this way, if there is a synonym listed in a glossary term then it should show that term and provide a way for the reader to understand the correct term to use within this knowledge base.

Users can search for the same thing in different ways. For example, a/b-test OR ab-best OR ab test. We want to add these variations to the article but so it's not visible on the page. Why adding them via tags doesn't work: defies the purpose of the tags; that's not how they are supposed to be used for organizing, looks bad because tags are there - on the page. So adding "a/b-test ab-best ab test" would look like something technical is popping up, not the content that user actually needs from the article

If I search on (e.g.) "(DEFAULT)", I need to see instances with the parentheses. But the search renders instances without (e.g., "default"). Thanks.

When searching for specific keywords, the search results shows/highlights results that do not match, which can create confusion to users

Advanced Search is a great feature. ButI do not really want my end-users to be exposed to the names of all the people who write articles in Document360. Can it be possible to hide the contributors possibility (or maybe configure which filters will be available here?) thanks

We get frequent complaints that users aren't getting accurate results when they use the search in the documentation. We tried to mitigate this by adding tags to all our articles....but even when we enter the exact tag term, the desired article doesn't show up in the results (or it shows up as results 9-10, by which time users have given up). This is because the search framework is "Title > URL > Content > tags > Breadcrumb" I would like this to either be modifiable for us, so we can force it to go "title > Tag > content", or see if other authors are having the same issue and would it make sense to update your search framework for everyone.

There certain keywords we use that we'd like to relate to other possible keywords that customers may use. This can then surface the best articles matching those synonyms/keywords along with other search criteria. I think we can accomplish this by maintaining a synonym database that can be used as part of the search logic. For example, "Create Article" -- using "add" as a synonym keyword for "Create" so searching "Add Article" ranks "Create Article" as possibly the same. Today, we can make this work by using tags but it's not the right application for it.
