We are publishing a public KB but we want to hide certain content to be accessible by "private readers only once we confirm their identity as a customer. Private readers is only accessible if the KB is private. It would be AWESOME to have "private readers" in a public KB and allow us to use Internal Notes to expose non-public content.

Hi Beryl Parakeet thanks for your patience; we have introduced this feature in our recent release.
We have renamed Internal notes to Private notes in the Documentation editor. You can add the private notes to your articles/pages by using the respective icon on the formatting toolbar in both markdown and WYSIWYG editor.

Remarkable Orca: our website will remain public. so how do customers sign up to access private notes?

Then no differentiation would be needed between public and private knowledge base. Certain categories could just be accessed by registered users
