Tell me what other articles link to the one I'm working on

I need to know if any other articles link to the one I'm currently working on. This helps to both understand the relationship tree of information, but also to know what will break if I delete an article.

It would be good to know the file dependencies before an article is deleted so that links can be fixed in advanced and not as an after process.

Hi Gamboge Coral - Thank you for sharing your request: “Tell me what other articles link to the one I'm working on.”
We wanted to let you know that we already have a similar feature request logged in our system:
“On page deletion, the system should prompt with the files that are linking to it.”
You can view it here: https://feedback.document360.com/feature-request/p/on-page-deletion-the-system-should-prompt-with-the-files-that-are-linking-to-it
Here’s a quick summary of our analysis:
Both requests focus on identifying which other articles link to a given article.
Your request emphasizes understanding the relationship between content while authoring or editing.
The existing request is focused on showing dependencies before deleting an article to avoid broken links.
Given the overlap, we believe these are essentially the same in terms of technical requirement, though with slightly different use cases. Please take a look and let us know if this existing request covers your use case as well. If so, we’ll go ahead and merge both into a single feature enhancement.
The good news is that we’ve already included this request in our product roadmap, and we’ll make sure to keep you posted on the ETA once development progresses.
Appreciate your input as always!

D360 Product Management If the feature would provide a list of articles linking to the one in question before performing a deletion, then that will work. I just don't want to have to "pretend" to delete an article to see what others are impacted. I also need to know what other articles bill be impacted if I make edits.

Gamboge Coral:
Thanks for the clarification — that’s really helpful.
You're absolutely right. Having visibility into what other articles link to the one you're working on shouldn't require a deletion workflow. Your point about understanding potential impact during edits is well-taken, and it highlights a broader need for better visibility into content relationships.
We’ll revise the scope of the current feature request to reflect this, making the list of linked articles available not only during deletion but also while editing or reviewing an article. That way, you’ll be able to understand dependencies and avoid unintended issues when making changes.
Appreciate you taking the time to elaborate — it helps us build a more thoughtful solution.

Absolutely
R
Ruby Halibut
this would be a neat feature to have
P
Physical Toad
This is related to an issue I raised earlier, knowing which articles link to an article that I'm about to delete. Implementing this would address both.

Gamboge Coral- I've thought the same thing! Thanks for raising this issue.

What articles link to a specific article
P
Physical Toad
I sorely need to know what other articles link to a specific article that I'm about to delete (especially in the absence of an archive function). Either it doesn't exist or I can't find it in the UI - in either case I need it to be possible.
