Hi Nivedha,
Thank you for sharing the feeedback on bahalf of the customer.
Tobias Thank you for sharing your feedback. To better understand your requirements and evaluate how we can support this, could you please help clarify the following:
- Audience Scope: Are you primarily looking to track downloads by internal team members (e.g., contributors, editors) or also external readers accessing files from the Knowledge Base site?
- User Identification: What level of detail are you expecting in identifying “who” downloaded the file? For example, are user email IDs sufficient, or do you require profile-level data?
- Download Origin: Would you like to know where the download was initiated from (e.g., specific article, category, or direct Drive access)?
- Usage Purpose: Could you share more on how you intend to use this data (e.g., content security, auditing, usage tracking, compliance reporting)?

Mohamed Shakheen Thank you for taking care of this. Of course, the more info the better, but we don't want to require our clients to disclose their identity. We want to see how much a file is downloaded to see if our clients make use of a special tool that we offer (in this special case). Moreover, it is interesting to see from which countries the clients are that use this.
Audience scope: external users
User identification: no personal data, just the provenience
Download origin: article would be fine, but not our major requirement
