Starred articles for users

The idea is: users can mark certain articles as starred and access them easily. Sort of like in gmail or on the portal for editors but on the user's side.

Reader's Account Area
Federico Marafin
it could be interesting for readers to have an "account area" where they could bookmark/pin favorite articles, see their previous searches, a list of notification about updated pinned articles etc. Instead of handling this information outside of Docs360 (emails).

We need an option for personalization. Today, colleagues bookmark links to PDFs in their browsers. The purpose of the new Doc360 wiki is to offer a single central source of truth.
Users need to be able to like or favorite an article to easily go back to it when they log in. It should be associated with the user, not the device. This way, the articles they regularly refer to are easily accessible in one place. Or even a simple history so the user could find something they looked at the last time they were logged in.
Our concern is that moving our users from shared drives of PDFs to Doc360 PDFs will just shift the problem, and that users will merely download/export articles as PDFs and save them to their desktop instead of referring to their top viewed resources.
This has been in review sine 6/13/2023. Is there anything on the roadmap now?

Ability for users to bookmark their favorite/most used articles and then have it accessible at the top right menu bar so when they click on the "Bookmark" icon, their favorite articles appear for them to access.

Hi Lior - Thank you for your feedback. We have the designs prepared for this requirement and plan to include it in our future roadmap. Since we already have a similar request, I will merge this with the original one.

Readers need the ability to favorite articles that they use repeatedly. Readers should be able to view which articles they have favorited.

Hi All - Thanks for your patience. We have planned to work on this feature during Q4 2023. We will keep you posted accordingly.

Nina Nadareishvili David Gregory - we do have separate menu in the Documentation, Starred which contains starred articles at the project level, and those users who have access to the respective articles only will be view and access them. We would like to clarify if the list you prefer for individual logged in users? If the accessibility to those articles is limited then not all the starred articles would be viewed by all the users. Kindly share your thoughts on this

Thiru: While you have a starred list for editors in the portal, what Nadareishvili and I are looking for is something similar for readers.
To answer your question regarding who should see the starred articles, each reader would have their own set of starred (or named list) articles and hence would need to be logged in to enable this functionality.

David Gregory: Thanks for the explanation. We have a feature called favorite article which is in the pipeline. This will be displayed in the KB site, when the user provide favorite to the particular article, that will be marked under a separate category which is called as favorites. This will be applicable only for the private projects. We will keep you posted on the updates.
