Site Owner Be Able to Delete All Discussions

Owners of a site cannot delete discussions by other users. They can only delete discussions that they have entered.
Site Owners should be allowed to remove ALL Discussions from articles.

Mary Theis would like to get clarified why portal role - project owner needs to have an option to delete all the discussions rather than editor ?

Thiru: We use DOC360 for software documentation. The Reviewers were using the Discussions for Peer Review. Once the peer review and revisions are done, I wanted to remove the discussions because the discussions are copied with the articles when I create a new version of the documentation.
Another use case would be if a reader posted a negative discussion on an article. There is no way to remove it. All other websites that have discussions allow the website owner to manage what comments are posted.
Best Solution:
It would be great if we are given the option to NOT copy the discussions when we create a new version from an existing version.

Mary Theis: Okay, there are two scenarios - whenever a newer revision history of the article is created then in that case the discussions should not be retained and there is also another scenario where the user clones an article, in this case discussions should not be retained as well.
Instead of extending permissions at the role level, we can look at this perspective.
In addition, there also might be scenarios where discussions need to be retained to identify why specfic content is written or removed. This use case of deleting all discussions may vary from case to case and achieving a common stand would be challenging.
The above scenario is with respect to the discussions in article settings in the KB Portal.
With respective to KB site, based on the site access we can set permissions to delete the comments provided by the readers. I will check with Engineering on this note and keep you posted.
Interesting if we delve deeper on this case, however I will keep you posted about the latest changes we make in this area.
Thanks for your time and valuable feedback.
