Set default template for a specific category

I want a certain category to have a default template that has been created. I want this to be the default so users don't have to select it (because they don't). This should be customised by category.

To better understanding this request, are you looking to map the article template to a specific category so that any new article created under that category is automatically generated with the assigned template?
