With the recent removal of Insert menu from the Advanced WYSIWYG editor, we can notice that there is a usability challenge where the users have to rely on shortcuts to add links on a pre-existing text. To solve this, it would be helpful if we can have a functionality where we can select a text and use the bubble menu to insert link.

We heard you and we are happy to convey that we have fixed this usability issue by giving this option in the bubble menu on selection of any text.

hi Silke, Auri, Elizabeth, Elisabeth Wrede,
We understand your pain point, and have fixed this usability issue. Now you can select the text to add links, callouts, or convert to code block from the bubble menu.

My team and I are also not aware of the advantage that the tabs with such important functions must be opened via/for insertion. For us, it takes more steps to insert links and callouts. Especially when internal links have to be inserted retrospectively or texts that have already been written have to be converted, this is anything but intuitive and therefore very complex and incomprehensible.
Can we please get the “old” editor back?

Agreed. While it's possible to select and press cmd/ctrl+k to add a link, it's not obvious to all content creators.

I agree.
In most authoring tools, you can add a link by simply highlighting text and either right-clicking or selecting an option from the menu. With the shortcut, you have to type it out — its frustrating and time consuming trying to add links to a callout that was already in the text.

I agree. Please make this feature usable again. It was very frustrating trying to add links to a callout that was already in the text.
