Search relevance – rhyming words shown despite exact keyword presence
backlog
Ramesh Lokesh
We have observed that the KB portal search currently highlights and retrieves semantically unrelated or partially matched terms. For example, when searching for “Slack,” results containing the word “Stacked” are also highlighted and included in the results. Similarly, when searching for “billing,” the expectation is that only exact or contextually relevant matches are returned, rather than words that merely resemble the keyword phonetically or partially.
We request an enhancement to improve search relevance by prioritizing exact keyword matches and contextually accurate results, while minimizing unrelated partial or rhyming word matches. This will ensure more precise and meaningful search outcomes for users.

Hi Ramesh Lokesh,Comfortable Canidae,
Thank you for sharing this detailed feedback.
We understand the concern regarding partial or semantically unrelated matches (for example, “Slack” matching “Stacked”), and how this can impact the precision of search results.
This behavior is influenced by the current search configuration, which is designed to support broader matching logic (including partial matches) to improve general discoverability. However, we recognize that in certain use cases—especially for technical documentation—prioritizing exact keyword matches and stronger contextual relevance is important.
We’ll take this as an improvement request to evaluate options such as:
Increasing the weight of exact matches
Reducing tolerance for partial or loosely related matches
Providing configurable relevance modes where applicable
Once we review feasibility and impact, we’ll share an update.
