Responsive design for tables

Managing the size of tables is a cumbersome manual process and has to be done over and over again, depending on the length and volume of text inside the table cells. Horizontally scrollable tables are not user-friendly. But even if we get a table sized right for our current view, chances are that readers have different screen sizes, hide the TOC panel, etc. Therefore, the feasible and modern way to manage table size is with responsive design. I imagine that I don't even have to worry about table sizing.

I want to add that setting column sizes is also a pain, as you can only drag the handle and set the size by eye (and even then it's not always working). I'd like to select a column and set the width directly as value, to uniformly and consitently size the columns of separated, but related tables.

Hi Nearby Cheetah,
Thanks for your suggestion, but we currently don't have this planned in our roadmap - we can consider this is the next table enhancement - we now have improved our table with freeze, sort & fiter features.
