Hi All - Readers can now subscribe to receive email notifications for specific categories or articles they choose to follow. This ensures readers stay informed about new articles and updates to existing content, enhancing engagement and overall experience. Note: This feature is applicable only for Private projects and its articles.
For your information (FYI) - This feature is available exclusively in KB Site 2.0, which is accessible for projects created after June 10th. We're working on migration plans for existing customers and will communicate them soon.

In private projects, we have more control over user authentication and data access, which allows us to ensure that user data is handled securely. For public projects, where access is open to a broader audience, implementing such a feature could expose user data to potential risks.
Tracking user interactions and preferences without proper authentication could lead to data privacy concerns. In private projects, we can guarantee that user data is handled securely and in compliance with privacy regulations.
Providing a seamless and effective notification system requires accurate user data. In public projects, the absence of login credentials makes it challenging to maintain the quality and reliability of the follow feature, which could negatively impact the user experience.

Notification Mapping for a specific category

Currently we have the option to get notified every time we have a change in a category at a global level. It would be great, if we can be notified per se a particular category.
Lets say there is a release notes category, and every reader can be notified of the articles every time there is an update.

Watch/Favorite article option

Add an option for visitors to our documentation so they can set a "watch" on an article.
The visitor will receive a notification when there is a change/update to the article.
