Nested Index Categories Should Also Show Descriptions

Currently, index category pages will show article descriptions if they're filled in, which is quite useful to provide users with a brief introduction of what an article contains. However, if the index category page has a nested index category as a subcategory, there is no possibility to add a description and for it to display it in the parent index category.
It would be very useful to have the possibility to add descriptions to nested index categories and that these display in the parent index category like articles do. It would make the parent index category look more consistent and have the option to introduce a subcategory in index form.

Hi Opera mauve Clownfish
Thank you for sharing this suggestion. We understand the value of maintaining a consistent and informative browsing experience on index category pages. While article descriptions currently help users quickly understand the content they're about to access, nested index categories don't offer the same contextual introduction.
Allowing descriptions for nested index categories -and displaying them alongside subcategories in the parent index category - would create a more uniform layout, improve content discoverability, and help users better understand the purpose of each section before navigating deeper.
We'll review this enhancement as part of our ongoing improvements to the knowledge base navigation and authoring experience and consider it for future planning.
