Mixed KB option to exclude private articles from public search

We have a mixed KB. Most of the content is public, and there is one private category for our internal users. We found that private articles were showing up in search results for non-logged-in users, which we do not want. We were able to resolve this by excluding these articles from KB search, AI search, and external search results, but this is not ideal. It would be better if our internal users could search these private articles when logged in.
I would request a new configurable option for mixed workspaces that causes the following behavior when enabled:
* Non-logged-in user performs a search: only public articles are returned.
* Logged-in user performs a search: both private and public articles are returned.
I think the existing options to exclude individual articles from search results could remain as they are.

Hi Spatial Mongoose,
Thank you for sharing this use case.
We understand the requirement for mixed workspaces where public users should only see public articles in search results, while logged-in users should be able to search both public and private content.
Currently, controlling visibility requires manually excluding certain articles from KB, AI, and external search, which we recognize is not an ideal workflow for mixed access scenarios.
We’ll review the technical feasibility of introducing a configurable option that differentiates search results based on user authentication state (logged-in vs non-logged-in) within mixed workspaces.
Once we complete our evaluation, we’ll share an update.
