Indicate article update in progress in category list
Steve Gray
When I am looking at articles and see them on the left-side category list, it would be good to know if the article has been forked and is being edited without having to actually open the article in the portal. Maybe use an icon or font color to indicate "update in progress" or something like that.

Hi Steve
Thank you for sharing this thoughtful suggestion. Providing a visual cue such as an icon or font color for articles currently being edited (forked) directly in the category list could indeed improve visibility and editorial awareness.
To better understand your use case and explore potential solutions, could you please clarify the following:
- Would it be helpful to differentiate between forked drafts and scheduled updates, or should they be treated the same for this visual cue?
- How frequently do you encounter scenarios where content is unknowingly being edited, and what’s the impact?
Your insights will help us evaluate this further and determine the best way to incorporate it into the workflow.
Looking forward to your input.

Hi, Mohamed Shakheen. Thank you for your questions.
Regarding the first point, I don't think we do scheduled updates, so that isn't an issue for me. For the second point, frequency varies. Mostly when we have many documents that work around a general topic, it helps to know if another writer has been working on one of the companion articles, so that I can see if the content changes I'm making are being reflected in other articles. As it is now, I can follow links to articles, but I generally end up on the latest published version, and it would be good to see its state in a glance in the portal.
