Hi Happy Coyote Uppili
Thank you for sharing this requirement.
We understand the expectation that whenever a user is assigned to a workflow or explicitly mentioned within a workflow assignment message, they should receive an email notification - independent of whether the “Article workflow assignee updated” notification event is enabled.
At present, these emails are governed by the existing notification mapping, which ties assignment-related emails to the “Article workflow assignee updated” setting. We acknowledge that this coupling may limit flexibility, especially in scenarios where assignment visibility is business-critical.
We will evaluate this request from the following angles:
- Separation of assignment-triggered emails from the current notification dependency
- Impact on existing notification preferences and backward compatibility
- Risk of increased notification volume and potential user fatigue
- Alignment with broader workflow communication strategy
Based on customer demand, usage patterns, and implementation feasibility, we will determine the appropriate prioritization and next steps.
We appreciate you surfacing this - we’ll share an update once the internal assessment is complete.
