Import Changes

We can only import 1 Word article, then we must manually type/change the article from within. We work on Word directly and would like to import the whole Word into an existing article, and have this as a historical change (so that the old replaced article gets archived with any links to files in the Drive, while the new article has all the changes with format imported quickly and efficiently)

Qaahir Nurmohamed thanks for your detailed explanation. For a better understanding, I've rephrased the 2 statements as below. Would be helpful and appreciative if you could confirm on the same.
#1. You would like to import PDF contents into articles directly instead of using it as attachments in the article by first placing them in Drive?
#2. In this action, you would like to replace the existing article content with newly updated word file and still would like to see the differences in the content with previous version without any manual interference?
Also I would like to get to know / understand better that do you face any challenges in our new Editor, since you are often engaged with Ms Word, the import action needs to be performe quite often. But while using our Editor from the knowledge base portal, this would help you to add more contributors and still facilitates with provision of inline comments aiding you to achieve the work without switching to multiple applications. Kindly let us know. Thank you.

Thiru Thank you so much for your reply!
Your 2 formulations capture exactly what it is I was intending to ask for perfectly, and it would help in a great deal of ways!
Regarding the new Editor, it certainly has its advantages, especially in terms of multiple collaboration. However, it is unfortunately more of a directive within our organization to have all documents be worked and finalized using Word and then those documents be put into storage.
The tools available within Documetn360 are fantastic, but I think the concern is more about standard tools/document formats that we must keep in line for our entire organization. Please let me know if I can provide more explanation or anything of the like (though you seem to understand exactly what we are looking for with regard to these feature requests, for which I sincerely thank you!)!

Yes please but I understand that this isn't possible but it's so needed. The slug shouldn't change so that links remain unaffected.

Hi Qaahir Nurmohamed,
Thank you for your feedback. In our current system, we are capturing the word file name as a article name while importing the article. Please check the attahcment.
Could you please elaborate more on the Drive (PDF)?

Mohamed Shakheen:
Thank you for your reply! I see this as two separate issues, hence why I submitted them apart:
- With the current system, only imported Word files from our computer captures the file name. We create articles containing only a PDF file or an Excel file (we do this by importing the file from our computer into the Drive, then creating an Article in Documentation, then "attaching" the file from the Drive to the Article because we cannot currently create articles by importing a PDF from our computer), however when we do so we must first name the article, then attach the file. Ideally, we would like to create an article from a Drive file; so if I had a PDF in Drive, then I would create an Article in Documentation based off of that PDF in Drive (essentially what happens at the moment with Word files, except that we are unable to import an article from PDF/other formats, so we must use the Drive as a middle-person)
- After we have Imported a Word file as an Article, we would like this to be updated: across our organization, we share certain Word files and work on them directly; what we would like to do is update the Article with this newly updated Word file by simply importing it/replacing the Article with the import, instead of manually changing the elements in the Article itself. With this replacement/import, we would then like the replaced version of the Article to be set aside for historical access (so that we can click on the history of the article every time it was imported/changed to see when changes occurred, track the history, etc.)
I hope that helps clarify the points, but please let me know if further elaboration would be helpful.
