Impersonate User

I hope we can add a feature where Portal editors will have the ability to impersonate a user's Knowledge Base Site access. This will ensure that a certain user either has or does not have access to certain articles.

Yes! We would love this. We have users reporting issues and it would be so helpful for an Admin to go in and see exactly what they are seeing to test and troubleshoot. Many applications have this feature for Admins and this would be a feature we would really appreciate!

Shakeer Hussain S I'm curious about the status of this. Our organization could also really use this as some of our user permissions can get complex. We want to be able to verify that all the permissions are set up correctly when a user comes to us with access issues. The way we do this now is by using a tester account to mimic that user's permissions, but as you can imagine, this is quite time-consuming.

Challenges: The current setup will only help us assume that "they have actual access" to certain documents - impersonation will help us determine whether the lack of access is a credential error or a user proficiency issue.
Examples: Our VP and COO flagged our team saying they didn't have access to a sensitive document, but our current setup dictates that they should have access to all the documents in the folder that the articles resides.
How do we currently test: We have another login being used - we edit that login to imitate the suspect user's access, then log in using the test account.
In what situations do you typically need to check user access? - almost daily as we add and update SOPs/articles everyday for different user groups with different clearance levels
How frequently do you encounter such cases? - at least 6x a month
What specific insights or information would be most helpful in resolving access issues? - article-specific and user-specific access information (actual visual if the user's login has access)

Glenn Paul - To better understand your pain point, could you please help me to get the answers to the below queries?
What specific challenges are you facing with verifying user access to articles today?
Can you share examples of recent incidents where this feature would have helped?
How are you currently verifying if a user has access to certain articles?
What challenges or inefficiencies do you face with your current method?
In what situations do you typically need to check user access? (e.g., troubleshooting support tickets, verifying permission settings)
How frequently do you encounter such cases?
What specific insights or information would be most helpful in resolving access issues?
What actions would you expect an admin to be able to take when using this feature?

We could really use this too. We have the same functionality in a number of our applications and it helps with troubleshooting quite a lot.
