Filter search results by topic

Terms, concepts, definitions can be used across different types of content under different topics. It would be great if users can narrow down their search result by topic/category to hone in on a specific area of results.
Search results today can be a little overwhelming, especially when using keywords rather than complete sentences.
It would also be great to filter by document/article Type or version

great feature but we need to give this ability to our customers that using the knowledge base site and not the admin portal
