Federated Search
complete

With the ability to create multiple knowledge bases, the ability to use the landing page to link to different help sites built in doc360, it would be good to still create a cohesive search experience. It would be nice to have a federated search experience from the help center that allows us and the user to filter what KBs they are searching.

It would also be good if we can add EN indexes to FR indexes so that user searching can see EN articles search results with one search from the French search page by enabling to search on different language indexes.

Hi Gerard U - This is a great feedback and we understand how this feature is important for you.
Recently, we have introduced 'Advanced Search' in Document360. Advanced search allows you to segregate the search results with the available filter options. You can perform a combined search across all the versions and languages simultaneously. This page would help the readers find the desired search results using the available filter options.
For example, you want the search results for the keyword "login" in the FAQ and Troubleshooting versions that have been updated in the last four months.
- Search the keyword "login" on the knowledge base site and click Go to advanced search link
- Apply filters in the 'Version / Language' and 'Updated on' dropdowns
- The desired search results are populated immediately.
We hope this would suffice your current need. Kindly review the feature and let us know your feedback.

Multiple instances of one public project

We need to split our public documentation into two separate instances. One would be for user docs, the other for developer docs. There should be one landing page though, where users can choose what docs they want to go to: user docs or dev docs. There should also be a common search for both instances, so when entering a search term, users would see in what docs (user or dev) the search term appears.

Helen, are you planning for these docs to be the part of the same project?

This is to do with some feature requests I had, e.g. possibility to add links from different versions to the home page, and search of whole portal

Just wanted to add a +1 to this request! Federated search would be a huge add for our team!

To add, we can created multiple versions as well from the same project. It would great if we can have the option to:
1 - Have a global/federated search experience across multiple versions and/or projects
2 - Include search filters to narrow search results by project and version
