Display Locked Articles to Logged-Out Users
A
Awake Ant
In mixed knowledgebase, allow login-required/locked articles to remain visible in search results and category navigation even when the user is logged out, while keeping the actual article content protected behind authentication.
To provide flexibility, introduce a configuration option that allows administrators to decide whether locked articles should be visible or hidden from logged-out users (public). This would improve content discoverability for customers who want users to know that the content exists, while still allowing customers who prefer complete content visibility restrictions to keep these articles hidden.
The customer highlighted that the current behavior makes it difficult for users to discover protected content and results in recurring feedback that certain articles cannot be found.

Hi Yinmn blue Lark , Awake Ant,
Thank you for sharing this request. To better understand the requirement and evaluate the expected behavior, could you please clarify:
Use case: What is the primary reason for wanting logged-out users to discover locked articles?
Visibility: Should locked articles appear in both search results and category navigation, or only in specific areas?
Authentication: When a logged-out user selects a locked article, should they be redirected directly to the login page?
Information shown: Should logged-out users see only the article title/category, or also the description/metadata?
Configuration: Should the visibility setting apply at the project/KB Site level, or should administrators be able to control it for individual articles/categories?
User impact: Who are the primary users—customers, partners, or internal users?
Current workaround: How are you currently helping users discover protected content?
Frequency: How often do you receive feedback that users cannot find these articles?
