Secure Thrush
Next to our open knowledge base we have a closed knowledge base (different version) that we use for applications that are in development. it would be nice to move/copy catergories/articles from one version to the other once the application goes live.

Would be nice to see a video on how this workflow is done. Is that possible? I am sure most of us would prefer a quick briefing, if possible. Even step by step email would be nice if video is too complicated to upload. Thanks team.

Enable category page type for linking or copying existing articles
S
Serenity blue Warbler
While you can copy or link existing articles to create a new article, you cannot do the same with the page type categories even though they are also articles. Enable this option to find and use the page type categories.

Enable cloning categories and page-type categories
S
Serenity blue Warbler
We cannot clone any category or page-type category page to another category. That's why we need to create a new article, copy the same content, and create a new page from scratch to display the same content somewhere else.

Serenity blue Warbler we have this in our roadmap planned in our Q1 2024, and we will keep you posted once released.

Copy Categories and subcategories
U
Umber Wildcat
We really need to be able to copy an entire category, so that when we make updates to products we can update the latest version. We can't do that at the project level because not all products are released at the same time. Currently we have to copy every article into a previous release folder and this is error prone and extremely time consuming. Please help us to be able to copy categories and sub categories so we can file them as previous and work from new release versions.

Clone articles as bulk operation
E
Equal Salmon
It would be great to have to possiblity to clone articles as a bulk operation. Even better would be if the whole category could be cloned.
It is very tiresome to clone a category which contains of about 100 articles. For us it would be a huge timesaver if a bulk operation was introduced. Our categories represent software versions and it can happen that only 3 or 4 articles need to be changed. However, we need the new version as a new category.

Equal Salmon thanks for sharing your thoughts. Introducing clone articles in Bulk operations needs to be evaluated, as the system needs to clone multiple articles, and there are scenario where users wanted to have these clones in different locations and not in same. This will require more user inputs, which we would like to avoid and keep it simple. But, we are glad to let you know cloning category along with its contents is work in progress, and you can expect the same to be rolled-out as part of Q1 2024.
