Comments workflow
planned

The way the inline comments work today does not allows us to work through article edits easily.
We need to be able to - 1. write comments for published articles withouth the need to set it to EDIT.
- we don't like that comments are deleted upon publishing.
- When replying to comments or using emoticons, the comment creator does not get notified. and we need them to be.
- Anyone should be able to resolve comments, and not only the comment creator.

Hi Yoni, Ethan, Bradford, Thank you for your feedback!
We recognize that contributors often need the ability to resolve comments themselves, particularly in cases where engineers are unable to address them promptly. We’re happy to share that this capability is now available.
As part of our recent inline comments enhancements, contributors can now resolve comments added by others. (Additionally, we’ve introduced a permission setting to control this feature through roles and permissions.)
Also, with this update all inline comments will be retained even after an article is published.
You can read more about these updates here - https://docs.document360.com/help/docs/en/reviewing-an-article-inline-comments#adding-inline-comments-to-an-article
Additionally we are also working on a comments feed to be added in the dashboard to notify the users about the latest comments. Stay tuned for its updates.

I don't really understand the logic of not being able to resolve comments unless you are the person who created them. Would also appreciate if they were preserved after publish. They don't need to be in the same version, even, just accessible in that previous version if I check the revision history.
Bradford Goerss
We also do not like that comments are deleted upon publishing.

I suggest to take a look at the way comments work on Google Docs and adjust accordingly if possible.
