Collaborative editing, like in Dropbox
under review

Could you please allow for inviting co-authors for working on the same article, like the Dropbox Paper approach. There, you can invite a colleague who then either provides comments on existing text, or adds text to the article itself. This greatly helps building articles across teams, like the Software Engineers and Product Managers working together on the same article.

Provision for multiple writers to simultaneously edit same article at the same time
TARIQ PATHAN
Hi, Most of the Doc tools including Confluence provides ability for multiple writers to work and edit the same page at the same time. There is no restriction as such that only 1 writer can edit and publish a page in confluence.
Edits done by multiple writers are visible once published to other writers.
This is a key feature provided by most Doc tools.
This can be provided as an optional configuration, for those who want to allow multiple writers to edit same page OR if you do not wish to allow multiple writers and only allow single writer to edit and publish. This can be controlled using a gear or setting which serves both customers.
Please check and prioritize it.
Thanks,
Tariq

This may or may not apply to this request, but it'd be helpful to be able to unlock an article that's locked for editing.
Sometimes, Doc 360 doesn't recognize the previous user is no longer in the article, so it makes another user wait for it to unlock.

Our current tooling that we plan to migrate away from already has collaborative editing so it would be a step backward if we choose Doc360. I hope you plan this into a release that is upcoming soon! :-)
P.S. We are leaving the current tooling for other reason. lol

Dear TARIQ,
Thank you for your valuable suggestion regarding the collaborative editing feature. We're pleased to inform you that it is already on our roadmap and is planned for development in Q4 of this year. We’ll keep you updated on our progress and notify you as soon as we have more information.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Best regards,
The Document360 Team

Versions in Draft
Nibu Thomas
When my authors submit a draft article for review.. and I make changes... there's no way for them to see what those changes are. Versioning starts only after an article is published. Which doesn't work. When another author opens the article and makes changes, please save the changes as another version. Why should learning happen only after content is published :)

Is there any update on this request? It appears it has not had an update since August.

This is critical for us as we transition our team from Confluence and Google Docs to Doc360. We are a team of Product Managers who collab with Engineering, Customer Success and other teams to get documentation ready for customers. We publish drafts and share a link to our collaborators who can then come in and either edit the article directly OR leave comments for specific sections/sentences/words where they have a question or a comment. Leaving such a comment triggers a email notification to the article's writer as well as any other team members who have been referenced in the comment using the "@team_member_handle" convention that is common across most business apps today. The article "Discussion" feature does not allow for such active collaboration and is more passive in nature. I'm afraid that our success with Doc360 will be limited with the absence of this feature.

Better Collaboration/Team mechanics
dave.connis@skuid.com
When working on a team, it's not really easy to collaborate on articles.
As a team lead, I want to be able to assign articles to my team mates, see what the progress is on those articles. I also want to know who wrote what in the editor without having to do a bulk operation filter.
As a contributor, I want to be able to tag other members in a more usable comments section that lets me know when I'm tagged. I also want to be able to quote parts of the article and ask questions about them in a collaboration/comment section within an article. I also want to be able to see when someone else is working on an article so I don't overwrite their work.
