Bold and italics on ordered list index numbers

In ordered and unordered lists, if I assign BOLD or ITALIC to the first word in the text, then it also applies that to the index number itself.
Because not all of the items in the list have the firs word bolded, it looks really nasty. Some of the index numbers in bold (or italics), and the rest of them, not.
Please stop the automatic assignment of the text characteristics in these circumstances.

Unintended Styling of List Markers When Formatting First Character of List Item
Harish Ganesan
When applying style changes specifically to the first character of a list item, the associated number is also unintentionally affected. We would like to have the list numbers remain unchanged unless the entire list item is explicitly styled. This leads to inconsistent formatting and affects visual clarity in structured content.
