Article "done editing" option to skip the timed lockout for other editors

It would be helpful when collaborating on articles if there were an option for the initial editor that says they are done for now so that another editor would be able to enter and edit the article without waiting the roughly 15 minutes for the article to unlock.

Just to clarify, the behavior you’re requesting is already supported. When the current editor navigates away from the article and moves to any other page or article, the edit lock is automatically released. This allows the next editor to immediately open the article in edit mode without waiting for the 15-minute timeout.
Please verify this in your current workflow, and if you’re still experiencing delays despite navigating away from the article, do let us know - we’ll be happy to investigate further.
