API Documentation PDF Export Issues with Large Categories and Formatting
backlog
Karthikeyan J
Exporting API Documentation categories with a large size to PDF fails in some cases.
Even when the export succeeds, the generated PDF is difficult to read due to deeply nested objects and the lack of clear formatting. This makes it challenging for users to understand the structure of the content.
It would be helpful if the exported PDF preserved the formatting properly so that the content is displayed clearly and is easier to read.
Thanks.

Hi Kind Lark, Charcoal grey Rhinoceros, Thank you for sharing this feedback—we understand the challenges you’re facing with exporting large API documentation to PDF. We also see the value in having alternative formats like MHTML to enable cleaner, web-based outputs that can be converted externally into better-formatted PDFs.
We will evaluate both improving PDF export formatting and exploring additional export options like MHTML. Based on traction and priority, we’ll consider this for our roadmap to enhance export reliability and readability for large documentation sets.

Bulk Export API Documentation in MHTML Format

A Customer has requested the ability to bulk export API documentation in MHTML format, similar to the existing export option for standard documentation.
Currently, exporting to PDF from web layouts often results in formatting issues, especially with page breaks, which affects readability and usability. Providing an MHTML export option would allow users to generate cleaner, web-based outputs and convert them into well-formatted PDFs externally.
This feature would significantly improve export quality and provide better flexibility for users managing large sets of documentation.
