Add Intro Text Option to Index Categories

"Index" categories currently show only article links with no space for an introduction. I propose adding an optional intro text area at the top of Index categories to give users context while keeping the clickable list intact.

Not sure that Analytics are needed as the Category page is just an index to other articles.

I was also just trying to find a solution for that, would be very helpful to inform the users in an introductory sentence what kind of articles are listed in this index.

hi Jordan Kaplan, Stuart Bierig, Caroline Tabach,
We understand the use case. However, we would like to understand if this would mean that we need to start tracking analytics data for index categories as well?
Please suggest if there are any other improvements that need to be made in the index category.
Thank you!

Hello Navin Kumar and others, what do you think of having an "Index" block to insert in a page content instead? This is what we do in DevOps wiki with a table of child pages [[_TOSP_]]. the page mechanics are already existing. Hope it helps.

Alexandre Tardif Navin Kumar This is similar also to what confluence offers too.

Thank you for your response and everyone else for their support of this request!
I love that when you create an Index Category, each of the articles within the category is displayed with text from the intro of the article.
To align the experience for the reader, it would be beneficial to add an optional Text Box at the top of the index, like a mini WYSIWYG editor. Type in the box and click save to add an intro to the Index page.
This would ensure the pages remain the same for users who do not want to use this feature.

I've thought about this for years. Thanks for making it an official request!

This is a super suggestion, and will make these pages more useable. An index page with a small intro
