Add Category Filter in KB Site Search (Without Using Advanced Search)

Currently, in the Knowledge Base site search filter, users can refine results based on workspace and language. However, there is no option to restrict search results by category directly from this filter.
The request is to introduce a category-level filter within the search UI, allowing users to limit search results to a specific category (or categories) without needing to use Advanced Search.
Additionally, having the ability to retain selected filter preferences across searches would further improve usability.

We understand the need to filter search results at a category level directly from the KB site search UI, without relying on Advanced Search. This would help users quickly narrow down results and improve overall discoverability.
We also note your suggestion to retain selected filter preferences across searches, which would enhance usability and reduce repetitive actions.
We’ll take this as an improvement request and evaluate the feasibility of:
Adding a category-level filter within the search interface
Supporting persistent filter selections across search sessions
This will be reviewed based on priority, implementation scope, and customer traction, and we’ll share updates if this is taken up in future planning.
