Ability to Export articles in Word doc

Team, we currently have the ability to export articles in the PDF, and which is fine. However, we want to be able to export in Word .doc or .docx format as well. In the previous tool our team was using, we could export a Word file.
It is especially useful when we have to share the doc with the customer offline and they want to have updates made to it in real-time. Our sales staff in collaboration with our doc team can help them edit or update the exported version in real-time.
Our tech writing team will then push the updates in Document360 for it to be published with the next release cycle. This way we're letting customers assist us on our tech doc efforts.
See the screenshot below. A native capability to "Export to Word" similar to Export to PDF option is the need of the hour.

Hi Usama Ansari,
Thanks for highlighting this use case — exporting articles in Word format (.doc / .docx) makes a lot of sense, especially for collaborative workflows where teams and customers need to co-edit content offline.
To help us understand the workflow better, could you please share a few more details?
-How frequently does your team need to export content to Word — is it a regular part of the documentation process or only during specific customer engagements?
-What challenges are preventing this kind of collaboration from happening directly online within the platform?
-Which tool were you previously using that supported the “Export to Word” feature?
-How are edits currently tracked or reviewed once customers make changes in Word — do you use Track Changes or manual notes?
-Should comments or metadata (like author name, version, or date) also appear in the Word export?
Your input will help us better understand the use case and scope this enhancement effectively.

Hey Kavya, see each response in turn.
- We export content every two to three weeks to match our tri-weekly release cycle. Each export compiles all release notes into a single Word document for the Field Training call. PMs review and comment directly in the file. The same document goes to the Sales team for internal use and customer sharing. Customers often add comments in the same file. When customer input isn’t needed, Sales collects internal feedback instead.
- This export is vital for collaboration between PMs, Sales, and customers during frequent review cycles. Without native Word export, we’d have to manually copy and format content from each category - a tedious, time-heavy process.
- Our previous tool, Paligo, supported direct exports in multiple formats, including Word: https://docs.paligo.net/en/about-publishing.html
- We use both Track Changes and manual notes to gather feedback and maintain transparency during edits.
- The exported Word file should retain comments and metadata (author, version, date) for version control and traceability.
Moreover, formatting must stay intact - bold and italic text, table borders, and heading levels (H1–H3) in Doc360 should mirror Word styles for consistency and readability.

Kavya Just to add to what Usama Ansari said,
1a - Sharing the word document with Field Training teams also helps the hundreds of field team members and PMs to give feedback directly on the document.
1b - We have hundreds of customers. Many a times, we are required to provide the documentation of a feature in word format to a customer a bit earlier than the feature goes live. In such cases, we have to resort to sharing the word document with the inclusion of important notes about this being a preliminary document and some content adjustments here and there. So the frequency is a couple of docs after every 3 weeks. Also, we have a parallel release going on for offline customers and
1c - At times, customers do not feel comfortable sharing access to Securiti login credentials to certain teams within their org as Securiti platform is all about dealing with sensitive data, and so they prefer sharing those word docs or PDF generated from those word docs with content adjustments.
2 - We have hundreds of Field team members. Purchasing hundreds of reviewer seats on Doc360 is not a practical approach. Its less about preference and more about what's practical.
3, 4, 5 - Usama already covered it
Thanks
