Ability to archive articles
planned
Nibu Thomas
Often, we need to take down articles, but we also need to be able to retrieve them later... and go back to it. So the ability to archive content is pretty important.

Though we are using the import/export function as a workaround, I realized that the history of the page doesn't get captured. So Please keep in mind that we will need the page history to be intact when archiving an article.

We need an Archive bucket greater than 100 articles

Most companies need to archive vs. delete pages. The folders are limited to 100 files and that is not enough to create an archive. I hit this wall and the pop up was not in my face enough to see and as a result there are likely files that did not get in the archive bucket.

This is essential for processes which update frequently.

Agree, this is very important for our organization as it relates to content management.

This is a hugely important part of any content management workflow. Looking forward to this being prioritized sooner than later.

Any update on this feature request

Yes, the concept of an Archive status for articles would be helpful. Essentially an "Unpublish", without the article having to be hidden.
Archiving may have been one of the intents of Hide, but I think Hide is getting other use now in the article workflow. For example, if someone published an article prematurely, Hide is the only way to make it private again. (And for now we're having to intentionally Publish a new article briefly in order to set up its Related Articles or links to articles...and then Hide it until it's finalized for publication.)

Marshal Ebinezar: hi there! What is the status update on this item? As it looks to be almost three years since it was marked as planned.
