Searching on two-word phrase with quotation marks does not work properly
complete
Stephen Kairys
We need to search our entire KB on a two-word phrase. We enclose it in quotes (e.g., "main menu"). However, we are seeing results with only one of the two words.
Examples:
"The main concept is..."
"Go to the Accounts Menu"
IMO, search terms enclosed in quotes should match ONLY the entire phrase. If you want to match on EITHER word, you would simply omit the quotes.
Thanks.

This is still not working within our help system. Adding quotation marks doesn't change the search results to include pages with the exact phrase. The results still prioritize articles where only one word is included (our article where the exact phrase appears actually isn't even showing up in the results at all).
Putting search terms within quotation marks is such a common feature in search bars that it's expected by our staff and clients using our help system. I'm not sure why this item has been marked as complete.

Stephen Kairys - this works as expected and we do support Advanced search as well.

Thiru: Please advise how I can use Advanced Search to search on the phrase (e.g.) "main menu".
In addition, searching on "4/20" does not render results for "4/20". It seems to render articles with either 4 or 20 which is not intuitive and, IMO, incorrect. I have opened a ticket
Thank you.

Hi ,
Greetings!!! Currently in Algolia search we are not supporting advanced search options. The search options have to be enhanced to support this requirement.
We could see you have raised a feature request for this in our feedback portal.
Our team will do the needful based on the voting for this request.
