Internal section links break if you change section heading

Suppose I have a section heading: VENDOR UPDATE. I add a link to it via the hyperlink dialog box, via choosing the heading from dropdown menu. So far, so good.
But if I change the section heading to (e.g., UPDATING VENDORS) the link no longer works.
It's too much to expect us to remember "oh, don't change a section title if you have a link to it..."

Agree that this is an issue. It'd be great if we could define the identifier (i.e., anchor name) for headings so that if we do have to change the heading's text, the anchor remains the same.

Stephen Kairys the understanding is that if the user modifies the URL value of a hyperlink that is actually a heading, in this case heading value doesn't change which is the expected behavior Kindly let us know if any concerns on the same.
