Hierarchy Browser pane loses focus if you clear the Filter

A common use case is that readers will use the "Filter" box above the Hierarchy Browser to quickly find an article with certain keywords in its title.
If they click on that article to view it, and then clear the "Filter" box, the Hierarchy Browser pane loses its focus on the current article and reset to its fully collapsed state, losing focus on the current articles's position in the Hierarchy.
User expectation: The Hierarchy Browser panel should reappear in its collapsed state for all _other_ folders, but the current article should still be highlighted, and the hierarchy folder path to the current article should be expanded out.
This bug prevents users from learning their way around a complex hierarchy/taxonomy.
