Article slug - redirect message

The message the appears when we modify the slug of an article is very confusing.
It should simply ask us - Do you want the old URL to continue to redirect to this article?

Nibu Thomas Marsha Hippensteel so the article redirection works as expected and moreover phrases are easy to understand.

Thiru: You folks don't do any usability testing. Plus you don't want to listen to customers as well. Disappointing.
What should be mentioned in the message is the impact of checking or unchecking the box. This is not at all clear in the way the current message is drafted.
Sometimes I wonder if I should raise any more issues. Sigh!

Hi Nibu. Agree/thanks for posting.
How exactly does this function work if we don't redirect (i.e., what maintenance do I then have to do)? I've needed to know, but haven't investigated it yet...

Marsha Hippensteel: If you don't redirect, then users who bookmarked the page (with the original slug) will have broken bookmarks. Bottom line, if the page has been out there for a while, you might want to redirect (if you think users found the page worthy of bookmarking). But if the page is newly-authored and still in a draft state (never yet been published, or only recently published), then there might not be any point making a redirect.
