Analytics does not keep choices for list views

If I browse to the Performance page on Analytics, the default choice of view is not very useful - Article author sorted by Likes.
So I change this to Article, sorted by Views.
Unfortunately, if I then browse to Search, and come back to Performance, it has forgotten my settings, which I then need to set up again!
This would be even better if choices were remembered in Local Storage or associated with my user account, so even if I open the Analytics a week later, it would keep them where I left them.

Marsha Hippensteel we have implemented "Remember state", which would actually help users to preserve their page status.

Thiru as a SaaS builder, I agree that this is clearly a behaviour that needs a policy. I've thought about it quite a lot over the years. My conclusion is that keeping the selected view, even though you might navigate away and back, is the right one.
You'll see that browser designers agree. Try finding a page where you have to scroll down to find some information, with links. Then click on the link. Then hit the Back button. The browser remembers where you were on the page - you don't need to scroll down again.
This should be the same for any view where you've done something to customize the content - like entered text in a search filter, selected a category etc.
So e.g. a webshop, if I've selected "shirts", and I click on a shirt and then go back, it'll remember I was looking at shirts and not make me set up the filter again. Or if I check their delivery terms, I can also come back directly to "shirts".
Stuff like sort-by, sort ordering, pagination etc etc also has to be remembered, or it will change in predictable ways.

Marsha Hippensteel By default our application behavior is that user filter option is not persisted when user navigates to different sections. However we can consider this in our future enhancements to this section.

Agree this would be helpful. Ex.: I get tired of changing the view from the default of 90 days to 7 days every time, so I can see this week's activity...
