404 Should lead to a login page for Private content
complete
Michael Webb
When users click on a link that we've provided to content that is not public-facing (private), they get an error 404 page.
This should not be the case and simply causes confusion from our users and partners thinking that the link was invalid / non-existant.
When a public user attempts to access content that is behind / requires a login, Document 360 should simply require the user to login. When a user then enters their credentials, they should automatically be re-directed to the original content / link they were attempting to access - now with the credentials necessary to view the content.
If the user does not have the necessary access to the content after logging in, they should see a page stating, "You do not have the necessary permissions in order to access this content".
They should be given an option to logout / switch users or to have an option to return to the home page.

Michael Webb now at the private articles in mixed mode, users now wouldn't be facing login error issue. Can you please validate this from your end and confirm us? thank you.

Thiru Obviously not the OP but I personally would be fine with that message if there was also a link to the login page. Once they logged in, I would then expect it to redirect to the original link

Michael Webb would like to clarify why public users need to login? If they are shared with private content link wouldn't it be fine to say " You are not authorized to access the content " rather providing login workflow?'

Hi Michael Webb, Thank you for your feedback; we truly understand your request; in the mixed KB, we are experiencing user confusion if the content is available only for the private users; we will consider your request and add it to our pipeline.

Having the Oops Error [404] makes it look like there's an error on our part in building the site out when really they just haven't logged in in many cases
