Often, we create content that should be published at a certain date to coincide with the availability of the feature in production. So the ability to configure a publish date while saving an article will be very helpful.

My team would also really like this feature for much the same reasons that have already been stated, to coincide with a product release.
Also we have a limited team that works on a weekend that if they need access to a document before Monday I have to get online during my time off (I am the only editor), or when on vacation it would be great to schedule articles to publish on x date so I don't have to get online when I shouldn't be working.

My team would love to have this feature, too, because we're getting some content done weeks ahead of the publication date for larger releases. Currently, I maintain a bookmark folder of all the articles that need to be published on the publication date. This would be handy for when vacation coincides with a publication date.

Please add this feature. Not that I don't like your product, but I'm tired of logging in on Sunday night to publish articles that we finalized on Friday, but we can't be published until the feature goes live.

This is a very convenient feature, specially in situations where the article needs to be published on a specific date that coincides with the writer's (or KB manager) PTO.
I would also add a way to schedule archiving or deleting an article.
